The Web

“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.”

great quote and so true...but seldom do we think it...

That's an incredibly good analogy. What a beautiful photo, too.

damn right! why do so few seem to realise this?????

Brian, you're right. I think for most people it is difficult to really feel the connection day-to-day. Especially when our Western society seems to value more the triumphs of the individual over what we do for eachother and anything not related to the economy.

Tatty, I like the analogy too. The web is strong but it's not invulnerable.

Welcome, Mary!

Great question, Shadow. I don't understand that either.

It is so sad that we virtually destroyed a society that had such a wise and special connection to Mother Earth. We forget respect for each other and our resources.

MM, it is sad - and even more so because we've done it throughout history. But perhaps we're getting closer to learning the lesson (hopefully before it's too late).

Thank you, Anonymous : )

This is how I live my life.

What I do, how I act, what I say affects those around me. And everyone is around me. Connected.

This is how I am too, R. The key to feeling the connection is living consciously and choosing to act with integrity.

Yes, the human race is a little pompous when it comes to evaluating our importance in the grand scheme of things.
