Nature Alert!

It’s that time of year again when baby animals of all kinds are stopping traffic. This morning, driving into work, marked the second time in two weeks that I’ve witnessed cars halted in both directions while a new family of geese toddled across the road.

While being so close to nature in the city has always made me smile – even when I’m in a hurry – I also realize how truly vulnerable these animals are. So when you are out and about over the next couple of months, in order to avoid tragedy, please remember to be extra cautious.

How cute. It's wonderful that now we can take a picture with our ubiquitous cameras to share the precious moment with others.

Truly. Ducks, Geese and even Deer. Mrs. MM and I took our big 'ol dumb dog for a walk and spied a lone deer in wet lands not 2 miles from our home....in the burbs.

Oh, yes! The other day I saw a quail trying to cross a busy street and I had to close my eyes! (Good thing I wasn't the one driving.)

And thank you for your donation link in the upper left corner. I don't think most people truly appreciate the horror that is being unleashed in the Gulf. We usually don't until it's too late.

Reminds me of a haiku I wrote:

Soft yellow ducklings

never question where to go:

Just follow momma!

(Yes, I know those were geese)
