Of Longing

Somewhere,
Across this great expanse
You are.
I feel you,
The way I have always felt you,
From the core of my being.
Though we have never met
On this side of the veil
Your essence
Is imprinted upon my soul.
And I ache
For the time we’ll be together
Beyond my dreams
Once more.

Oooooo Felicitas ~ I LOVE this today. The photograph is just so intriguing too. Such beauty being able to combine the two with such poetic words. Mesmerizing!

My 55 is up (though it's a "66" today ~ I granted myself an exception):

I read this in a deeply spiritual way. It is beautiful. Mine is up as well, but it isn't spiritual at all.

Lovely.

Thank you, Karis! I thought the image was cool, too. It's from Deviantart which has alot of beautuful artwork for download and sale. But the photographs you post - which I know you take yourself - are ALWAYS really lovely as well.

Hi Sheri, thank you and welcome. This piece definitely came from my heart.

Chris, you're right - this is also a very spiritual piece.

MM, I can feel you too - thanks for the hug!

Happy Mother's Day to you too Shakira - and all the other great moms here! Hope your kids spoil you this weekend!

Felicitas, you are one of the reasons I love the Poetry Pantry. This poem is nothing but gorgeous. It is at once hopeful and killingly melancholy. I have felt just this way so often. Thank you for putting this feeling into words.

Believe it or not, Sherry Blue Sky used two words that I WAS going to use. "Beautiful" and "mysterious." Great minds think alike, I guess. Kind of reminds me of Enya songs.
