Dream Date

It began as something
She thought she had to do,
Something planned for,
Expected.

At first, she thought
That was okay.
Didn’t everyone go through
The same thing?

She allowed them
To direct her fate,
Pushing aside her hopes
For security, nine to five.

Now, she wonders…
Could there be
An expiration date
On dreams?

That relates to my last post "What do I want to be when I grow up?". It's never too late to pursue your dreams!

'Could there be An expiration date On dreams?' I love this line! And to answer, only if we let it happen.

Oh, that's lovely, Felicitas! A very nice 55. A lot of what we do is nothing but stuff we feel expected or compelled to do. That is, until we sit and think it over, and realize that we are in control of our own fate. It's a liberating thought! And I don't think there are expiration dates on dreams... not at all!

This one really touched me. We always try to do what is "expected" of us but what really makes us happy? When does the time come for that? And yes....the days pass and the months and the years as we hang on to the drudgery of security. I love your last line.

Thanks for putting my thoughts in words.

There may be no expiration date on dreams, but they can be lost or forgotten....and that is the shame of time and 9 to 5.

There are no expiration dates on dreams. Only the limits that we impose ourselves! Great 55!

I’m up right HERE

This is wonderful...I hope there is never an expiration date on dreams myself :) Well done. Happy Easter to you and your family :)

No expiration date on dreams, definitely not!

Scary thought. I guess the expiration date would depend on one's endurance. Me, I got a lot of endurance.

Felicitas said...

So the consensus seems to be that there is no expiration date... and I whole-heartedly agree! It ain't over, 'til it's over.

Goodness. I have wondered that. A lot. No answer yet.
