Yesterday was Imbolc, which means we’ve officially made it through the mid-point of our winter. It won’t be long now before all the cold white stuff is gone, replaced by all the buds of spring. Can’t wait!
In honour of the expansion of light outside, I have assembled some wise words on holding the Light within. Enjoy!
“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.” ~Elisabeth Kübler-Ross
“Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.” ~Maori Proverb

Bright as the sun this is... it makes me long for that spring so much
BEautiful!Fel!
I love the images and words that you have paired together. They're the perfect way for me to begin my day. Soothing... to say the least. Thank you for that.

There were blossoms crowning a tree outside a meeting I went to the other day. It was as inspiring as your beautiful gallery here.
That was so touching... It's as if you infused the images and quotes with special energy. I was nearly moved to tears. Thank you - what a great feeling (believe it or not!).
I noticed yesterday that it's still light at 5:30p and that made me grateful. Spring is one her way!
Beautiful post. Thank you. Imbolc burst through the melted snow here on the Welsh Borders with a wonderful display of almost luminous snowdrops in the hills. Delightful. The promise of the Spring. Not long til the Vernal Equinox now!
Spring is absolutely on the way - for most of us (sorry Shadow)! We've been lucky here, for the most part, blessed with a fairly mild winter.
How lovely, MM, that the trees in your part of the world (western U.S.?) are already budding.
And Megan, yes, I've noticed it getting lighter earlier as well : )
Celtic Fire, your luminous Welsh snowdrops sound lovely. Winter really does have its charms but for me, nothing tops Spring.
