I stumbled across this quote yesterday while browsing through Chapters. For some reason, it really struck a chord with me – probably because my life has been so stressful of late.
To me, it’s a reminder to slow down and take the time to really appreciate what’s going on around us. It’s not enough just to “get through” life. In order for it all to really mean something, we have to take the time to be introspective and learn the lessons life continuously presents us with. We need to be there for our family and friends and regularly show them that they matter to us. And we need to find enjoyment in most of what we do – after all, if we’re not having fun, why are we doing it?
I want more moments that take my breath away.

A beautiful and true quote indeed.
Sometimes we go through the day, more like zombies than human beings who have feelings, refusing to let anything completely in.
Perfect. Especially now that I will have more time on my hands, I will be looking for those moments and allowing time to take them in. Thank you for this.
What a gorgeous picture. The beauty of it took my breath away.
All kinds of things do that for me these days. Deep spiritual stirrings are almost always at the bottom of them.
PG
like the quote...and i too want more of those...beautiful pic as well...
I would love to give them to you...
but we are so far apart... *sighs*
and you are right, we need to slow down and smell life, taste dreams...
Yes,me too Felicitas..
I really like that quote
-we can all relate well ;)
Thanks for sharing.
As far as moments that take my breath away, that photo, the quote and your words did just that!
A breathtaking pic. Ya, we should take some time out for ourselves from our busy schedule else things do tend to become mechanical n monotonous.
This post is just what I needed!
Hi Felicitas,
My mother loves this quote so much that she has it on her answering machine. It really is profound. Thanks for sharing it.
Perfect quote! I would like a high number of breaths, though! LOL
You said that so beautifully. I believe we can all create lives for ourselves that feel good; that are fun, filled with meaningful moment; involve EASE rather than struggle; and that are heart-centered.
And as you said, every moment really does matter, because in every moment we've manifested someone or something to teach us more about ourselves.
What a beautiful image, and beautiful quote. Thank you for sharing all of it, and much love to you!
lovely quote.
I feel entertained by your music as well.
awesome post!
Happy Saturday!
Thank you all for your breathtaking comments! It is such a gift for me to communicate with so many beautiful souls! Namaste.
Great quote. I've seen it mis-credited to many people - Mark Twain, Satchel Page, Bette Midler, George Carlin and even the Dalai Llama.
The author was actually a Canadian man who wrote the quote on a greeting card for Carleton Cards in the mid 197o's.
