Bright Promise

The wheel turns ever strong
Under Brighid’s
Watchful gaze.

The world awakens
From darkness’ hold,
Preparing and welcoming,
Hope renewed.

Divine and everlasting
Flame
Igniting the earth,
Inspiring poets’ dreams.

Healing waters
Awaiting release,
And purification
Of so many lost souls.

Hidden deep
Beneath February snow,
Sparks of life abound – radiant,
Reaching for the stars.

I really like the imagery evoked by the final lines "Beneath February snow,
Sparks of life abound – radiant,
Reaching for the stars."
We should all look deeper to see the hidden beauty in life. Wonderful 55! Thanks for visiting mine!

Alice, you're just going to have to use your imagination. I can feel the warmth... I swear!

I don't know the gods and goddesses of the north, but this is like that wonderful Persephone myth, when she's about to be released by the god of the underworld who has held her all winter for eating pomegranet seeds. Her Mother Earth rejoices. Hope is indeed renewed.

The wheel will turn. That's easy to forget, this time of year. Thanks for the reassuring reminder!
