The Neglected Garden

Once she flourished under their need. The more she gave, the more beautiful her life seemed. Now, what remains is a mother’s choked spirit - her love overgrown.

Sunday 160 is a creation of Monkey Man. If you’d like to participate or check out other 160s visit him here! This has also been a Magpie Tale. Interested in reading more? Click right here!

a 160 with a deep meaning
being mother of three children myself - i have decided i will give and pour and love and not expecting anything back - but of course i'm glad if there comes something back - at least...

VERY NICE!!!

Why do I always think I have to write a 5,000-word story for a Magpie? Is THIS why I was called "DUMMY" all through kindergarten? All five years of it???--grin!

I just read this three different ways, and am not sure which to react to.

My first reaction is that the kids have grown and moved away leaving her with too much thwarted feeling, in which case I say she needs grandkids.

My second is the kids are making too many demands, in which case she certainly doesn't need grandkids. :)

My third is the water pot needs to move somewhere else and the gardener could do some weeding.

This kinda feeling is about to kick in again as my oldest son flies the nest next month!

Ah, the ways of change - but I wonder why her spirit is choked...

Thought-provoking and nicely linked with the choked, overgrown garden in the picture prompt - I like it very much.

I like this very much. I hope that soon the off-shoots of the off-shoots will need tending, and her life will bloom again.

Beautiful and concise, Felicitas. It describes so perfectly how a mother's role works. And amazing that you wrote that from the plant image... it works so eloquently!
